Important notice!
Due to an unforeseen technical issue, the cable car service to Allmenalp remains closed until mid september. The cable car service has been suspended; no transportation is available!
The via ferrata and the rental service are open as usual (return journey from Allmenalp to Kandersteg only by foot approx. 2.5 hours). Last rental of via ferrata sets at 16.00 h.
The hiking trails in the Allmenalp area and the paragliding launch site are open.

Recreation on Allmenalp
At 1700m (5600 feet) elevation, the impressive mountain panorama spreads over the region of Lake Oeschinen, Gasterntal to Sunnbüel and Gemmi. For those who want to discover the mountain trails, there are circular hiking trails and hiking peaks as well as the connection to the "Via Alpina" in the direction of world-famous village Adelboden. Even for less ambitious hikers, a wonderful hiking experience awaits you on the route towards the Ueschinental and back to Kandersteg.
If you are more into a thrill, you should definitely not forget your climbing harness and via ferrata set! The Allmenalp via ferrata is one of the most varied and scenically beautiful via ferratas in Switzerland. With a rating of KS4, you should already have some via ferrata experience and enjoy exposed, airy sections!
Allmenalp is also famous for paragliders. As a starting point for distance flights, but of course also to learn the craft, we are proud to offer the perfect terrain and conditions to explore the limitless skies of Kandersteg.
There is a lot to discover on Allmenalp and if you prefer to do this with a good meal, you will feel very comfortable in the charming Allmen-Beizli - right next to the mountain station.
